Care Tips for Baby and Children’s Playmat

Playmats are an essential item for babies and young children, especially during activities like tummy time and everyday play for toddlers.

Given their frequent use, it's inevitable that playmats will get messy. If you've ever wondered how to care for your playmat long-term, you've come to the right place.

Never Leave Stains or Spills

It's crucial never to leave stains or spills unattended on the playmat. The best approach is to wipe off any spills as soon as you notice them to prevent stains. You can use a baby wipe or a wet cloth for this purpose.

It's important to choose gentle cleaning products to avoid damaging the playmat, and preventing discolouration or flaking. Additionally, using gentle products ensures that your child doesn't come into contact with potentially harmful chemicals.

Keep it out of direct Sunlight

Another essential tip is to keep the playmat out of direct sunlight. Exposure to direct sunlight, along with harsh chemical cleaners, can lead to discolouration of the playmat.

Prolonged sunlight exposure may even cause certain playmats to flake or damage their integrity. If you're using the playmat outdoors in sunlight, make sure it's for short periods and then pack it away safely.

When Not Using, Pack It Away

Packing away the playmat when it's not in use is essential for maintaining its good condition and preventing spills or accidents.

Storing it properly also helps keep it clean, and free from dust, dirt, and pet hairs, especially in high-traffic areas.

Keep The Packaging It Came with for Storage

Lastly, when storing the playmat, it's best to keep it in the packaging it came with.

Whether it's the original box or a storage bag provided with the playmat, using the packaging for storage helps maintain its shape and protects it from dust and damage.

Our playmats come rolled up with velcro straps. These hold the mat together for shipping. So make sure you keep them, as you can use them to re-roll the mat when it isn't in use.
